Our Team

Established in 2008 at Kalani High School in Honolulu Hawaii, Team 3008 has grown from a small handful of four to a well-established team of 28 dedicated members, with a fairly equal amount of girls and boys. Our team takes pride in being an independent, self-sustaining team where everything is student-oriented and student-run, with the support of our mentors, communities, and families. We lead this way to create an environment that brings out the best of team members and raises student leaders by preparing them for future society.

Team Demographics

Think of varsity sports, leadership, science teams, and community service clubs jammed together in one extracurricular activity and then multiply all of that greatness by 10. You'll end up with a pretty good idea of what our robotics team looks like. Here at Team 3008, it's so much more than just robots. Our members get hands-on opportunities and experience with real-world engineering challenges, project management, leadership, finance and business management, public speaking, and community outreach. As students, we've applied for grants, founded organizations, started and maintained businesses, developed effective products out of simple ideas, given presentations at international conferences, and travelled the world. Thanks to the opportunities we get from being part of this team, we're ready for the future.
