What we Do
Here in Team 3008 we go to many public events to spread STEM and FIRST's influence. We also host a variety of competitions for our local teams.
Kalani Robotics Academy
(Summer and Fall Break)
The Kalani Robotics Academy is an introductory robotics workshop for grades 1-8. Over Summer and Fall Break, our team members teach kids about robotics in four different classes designed to fit various age groups. To learn more about the Academy and sign up click here.
BristleBot Community Outreach
Throughout the year our team does numerous BristleBot demonstrations at local Rotary Clubs, Elementary Schools, malls, and other events. BristleBots are an introductory robotics kit that Team 3008 has developed for both outreach and fundraising. To learn more about BristleBots, click here.
KCC Science Fair
At KCC science fair we showcase what we do here at Kalani Robotics by introducing our VEX and FRC robots to the public. We let people drive our bots, play games with them, and other fun activites. We also hold Bristlebot Workshops throughout the day.
Keiki Day is hosted at Kahala Mall every year. We promote our BristleBots and increase awareness about STEM.
Lacy Veach Day
An event held at Punahou, Lacy Veach Day is dedicated to honoring our local astronaut Charles Lacy Veach. At this event there are many activities that people can do that revolve around STEM. Team 3008 has its very own BristleBot workshop to promote creativity and imagination by allowing the audience to find different solutions to challenges.
Children's Youth Day
In October, Kalani Robotics hosts their annual bristlebot competition for the local elementary schools and middle schools. This is a competition where family and friends can witness students engage in a variety of challenges designed for toothbrush robots.
VEX Tournament Host
We host our very own VEX Tournament for East Oahu right here at our school gym. Over 30 teams participated at this competition.
FLL Tournament Host
To help out the local community, we put together and organize the largest FLL regional on the island, right here at our school.
