Cybersecurity is something you rely on! (Yes you). In this short fall class, Magma Robotics students will introduce Cybersecurity students to the ever growing dangers of the internet, and how to combat them! We will be covering the basics like common attacks, some of which pull millions of dollars from people's pockets every month, to ways of protecting yourself online, how to ensure your personal data and information doesn't get out there into unwanted hands! Students will also have an inside look into networking, the backbone of the digital era

COURSE DESCRIPTION:

Cybersecurity:

Students will have a basic peek into the world of online cybersecurity threats, including attack methods, personal information risks, and defensive methods. They will be learning how to identify attacks, how to set up protection, and etiquette for sealing their personal information away. Finally, they will learn about simple cryptography and networking, and ultimately how they tie together to form the backbones of the digital era.

Cybersecurity is a student run program with at least two Team Magma members in each classroom along with an adult chaperone.

The course will be run in person at Kalani High School room E-15. All students are expected to wear masks at all times.
